Stuttgart and its attractive experience region are among the most important economic locations in Europe and in addition have a great deal of potential for enchanting tourism attractions. In order to directly and effectively implement the interregional location, tourism and image promotion of the Stuttgart region, 32 communities have combined together under the roof of Region Stuttgart Marketing und Tourismus GmbH - as the official tourism partner of the Stuttgart region.
Together the location advantages as well as tourist activities and attractions are communicated in order to strengthen and expand upon the top position of the Stuttgart region in the European as well as world wide competition. The activities are especially concentrated in the five areas of city tourism, congresses and meetings, group trips, events and incentives. |

From exhibitions to musicals, art and culture are to be found almost anywhere in Stuttgart. It is a fantastic place to simply set off and browse through the countless little galleries or to catch a spectacular performance. Emerging talent is showcased and supported, and regional artists are also presented. You can count on pleasant surprises. The Academy of Art and Design enjoys international renown and is in the immediate vicinity of the world-famous Weissenhof Estate, which was built by Le Corbusier and Walter Gropius among others. The academy and the Weissenhof Estate make for a unique and creative combination which is not to be missed. Besides the shopping area along Königstraße and the Schlossgarten park, you will also find other appealing places to visit in the city centre, such as the Staatsgalerie, the Staatsoper and the Staatstheater, all of which are great cultural institutions. In the Postmodern Neue Staatsgalerie, you can take a lengthy stroll through six centuries of art history. It is an aesthetic place full of art where you can discover world-famous works by Picasso, Max Beckmann, Otto Dix and many others. The main shopping street in Stuttgart is the Königsstrasse which starts at the main railway station (Hbf) and ends at the city centre (Stadtmitte). All the surrounding cities in Stuttgart region also have their respective shopping centres. Some of the well known shopping malls are:

| Climate |
Stuttgart's position at the centre of the European continent plays a major role in its summer and winter temperature extremes. Summers are warm with an an average temperature of 70F (20C), the hottest days falling in July and August. Winters last from December to March, the coldest month being January, with snow lasting for several days. |
