Aweful place. They charged me even when using Luggage room. The room is so small that there is no place to open my luggage. Wifi does not work well. Reception was always crowded so I had to wait in front of reception. The window was not closed tightly so it was very cold at night.

I stayed in a six person room. There were two triple bunk beds. The beds are assigned, so if you don't want the top bed you might get screwed. There is a shower and toilet in the room. There are also laundry rooms. The cleaning staff put out of order signs on the machines so they can use them when it's the time for the guests to use them. Ignore the signs all the machines function. There is also a bathroom outside of the rooms. In the male bathroom there is a vending machine with condoms and blow up sheep dolls. There is a mini fridge for all the guests to share and a microwave. The service was good and helpful.

Good place, location is Amazing! Room was a small attic, maybe a bit claustrophobic.. But clean and had everything you need.

Bar one less than helpful/slightly ignorant staff member who was on the desk at the time of our checkout, St Christopher's Inn was an incredibly nice hostel. The rest of the staff were extremely friendly, you couldn't find a more central place to stay, they had great deals on the car before it and if was very reasonably priced. I couldn't recommend it any higher!

Biggest advantage of this hostel is that it's right next to Waverley (train station) and many Edinburgh destinations (Edin. Castle, Elephant Room, Scott Monument). My group (4 of us) stayed in a 12-person room, which was overall 'alright' but a bit cramped since other guests left a lot of their stuff in the middle of the floor instead of in lockers or to the sides of the room. There's quite a bit of pedestrian/vehicle traffic at night and both are quite audible as rooms face outward toward the street. This hostel appeared a bit dated, the overall atmosphere can be described as "grungy" (especially the bathroom and common room. The staff was exceptionally welcoming and agreeable. For the budget-wise traveler this hostel will meet your needs.
