Cheap and cheerful, great for our sports team to stay together without paying a fortune. The breakfast is a great option and the kitchen is well looked after.
Wifi was a bit slow but that's to be expected with so many people using it at once.
Will definitely stay again!

Thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Stayed for a total of three nights at different times in September of last year. Very clean and comfortable. The hosts are all friendly and trust worthy and it is safe to leave your bags there before your check-in time (which is hard to find at most hostels). LOTS of stairs. If you are handicapped, I do not recommend this place. But for anyone who doesn't mind some stairs, it's a great hostel.

Excellent hostel in a really good location, could walk to most attractions. Fully equipped and massive kitchen. Big common area. Breakfast was cheap and decent. Room was a little cramped. Didn't have to wait for a bathroom or shower. Would stay again.

brilliant find right in the heart of Edinburgh! Thank you for honouring my requests even in a really busy time. these guys have set up a really good Hostel (having run one in Sydney I know the difference). love the shower units, can have a shower even on the coldest day in there. the cleanliness was fine, what you would expect from a hostel (not a five star hotel) he funky features stand out, making the theme work. friendly staff, even lent me hair straighteners!! only thing i would add would be another hook at the other end of the bottom bunk, to make it easy to hang a towel to block out the light when room mates get up earlier than you to leave.. and the plug in the bunk is such an up to date idea, USB plugs too next time ;) thanks a lot, I will be back when I visit Edinburgh again!

Cozy and very bohemian. The staff was nice. The room and the bathroom were clean. The rooms are spacious, so the number of people isn't much of a bother. Great location, you don't lose time going downtown because you are already there. BUT because of this and the number of people in each room I would recommend taking ear plugs with you, because things can get noisy. They have a common room with a lot of games, so you can have a fun night in. I would say this is a place more oriented to students going on a trip with friends, backpackers, etc.
