Chicago cost of living is high. Chicago cost of living is about 60% above the national average. I was truly shocked when I found out how much the cost of apartment living is in Chicago. Studios go for $700 -$900 in the windy city while a one bedrooms averages around $1600 to $1700. Need an apartment for two or three bedrooms? When you better have a six figure income because living in a 2-3 bedroom apartment in Chicago's inner city will cost of anywhere from $1900 all the way to a staggering $2, 900. There is hope though! One great thing about living in Chicago is there are many suburbs not to far from the city where apartment rent is much cheaper. |
