It has received several accolades in the field of tourism; including being voted by Condé Nast Traveler magazine Readers' Awards as the "UK's favourite city" in 2004, "Best English city to visit outside London" in 2005, "Visitor city of the year" by The Good Britain Guide in 2005 and was described as a great place to visit by Rough Guide in 2008. The city is listed in the book 501 Must Visit Cities. Cultura The cultural, historical and architectural heritage of Leeds is well represented by a host of museums, theatres, stately homes and art galleries, from the national attractions of the Royal Armouries and the Thackray Medical Museum to the fine mansions of Harewood House, Temple Newsam and Lotherton Hall. Leeds has a full calendar of events, from an exciting programme of open air public entertainment for all the family - including ‘Opera in the Park’, ‘Party in the Park’ and ‘Classical Fantasia’ - to prestigious work presented by Opera North, Phoenix Dance, the Northern Ballet Theatre and the West Yorkshire Playhouse. The renowned West Yorkshire Playhouse stages more productions than any other theatre outside London. As well as already being home to four renowned theatres, major national and regional attractions located in Leeds have also recently been joined by The Carriageworks - Leeds' newest theatre and conference venue, and a new £26m state-of-the-art city museum which op Sights Although not considered a 'traditional' tourist destination, Leeds has plenty to occupy the visitor. As well as the main sights, museums, galleries, parks etc, wandering around the buzzing city centre to take in the atmosphere and admire the fantastic blend of architectural styles from the past few hundred years is a pleasure in itself. Within the city centre, the main districts are the civic quarter, central shopping district, exchange quarter and financial district. Bars here are several bars onsite. They should be able to take Debit and Credit cards as well as cash. Bar staff will ask for proof of age ID whenever the customer appears to be under 18. Proof of the attainment of 18 years of age will be required before you are able to buy alcohol. <br /> If there is any doubt as to the age of the customer they will be refused service. The onus is on the individual to demonstrate unequivocally that they are 18 years old or over and if the individual cannot do so they will not be served. Opening times of the tent will be confirmed nearer the festival. <br /> <br /> This is a voluntary venture for anyone who wants it and the aim is that it will help our bar staff, gate staff and other local retailers to do a quick check for anyone that seems around 18 years old. <br /> <br /> It will stop you having to carry your ID every time you want a drink on site, or want to bring alcohol into the campsites from the supermarkets. There will a tent near arena entrance where you will be able to get the over 18’s band once you are in the event.
