Gallery portion constantly changing, and always thought-provoking. Collections well-curated, and active programme of inclusive events always well worth attending. The exterior is poor-looking, but inside the staff work really hard to lift this treasure of Inverness and involve the community. Not static and staid, but worth visiting regularly! Don't forget to visit the sister Castle Viewpoint at the side of the castle while you are there, not free but well worth the £5 for spectacular views over the surrounding area. The Viewpoint is currently open 7 days a week (though reduced winter hours) as it has proved so popular.

Small but easily accessible museum with info about the history and culture of Scotland. Lovely building with beautiful displays.

Great place for local history. Lots of information and artefacts.
Good for all ages helpful and friendly staff.

Is a small and interesting museum. Didactics is its strong point. Is built on two floors and explains the history and culture of Scotland very well. I recommend it to everybody.
